They make the light get focused into a hole on the wall that projects the picture backwards.

The understanding of optics and the process of making high quality glass lenses.

3. What were the parts of the first modern camera invented by Niepce?
A glass lens, a dark box, and film.

4.What do modern digital cameras have in common with Niepce’s camera?
The light still passes thru the lens to expose the film and make a photograph.

5. What do digital cameras use to capture an image?
They use digital film capture the image electronic sensor called CCD.

6. What is the difference between the Auto Mode and the Program mode?
Auto mode takes full control of the camera while shooting and program mode you get to control some features.
7. What is the Portrait mode used for? How does it work?
To try to only get the person and blur out the background.

8. What is the Sports mode used for? (not just sports) How does it work?
To freeze motion and use the highest shutter speed possible.

9. Why should you do a half press on the trigger button?
To focus the picture you want to take of.

Its so the flash won't be on while taking pictures.

The camera decides if the picture needs more light in the picture or not.

12. What happens to your photo if there is too much light?
The picture will be washed out.

13. What happens to your photo if there is not enough light?
The picture will come out to dark.

14. What is a “stop.”
The relative change in the brightness of light.

Its 1 stops brighter.

Its 2 stops brighter.

17. What affect does a longer shutter speed of have?
The effect will have more light.

18. What affect does a shorter shutter speed have?
The effect will have less light.

19. What does the aperture control?
It controls the light coming into the camera.

20. When adjusting the aperture, how can you increase the amount of light?

Moving from f16 to f8 is: Two stops brighter it opens the aperture more for more light.
